A senior officer tried calling him repeatedly on Jan 22. When he didn’t respond, officers living in the adjacent rooms were asked to check on him. When they peered into the room through a window, they saw him hanging.
They broke down the door and tried to resuscitate him. He was immediately taken to the military hospital where he was declared dead. Then, the local police station was informed.
Shukla also indicated that the specific cause of the suicide cannot be disclosed as it is considered a private matter.
