Many features of the Indian Constitution are taken from different countries around the world making it one of the most unique Constitutions in content and spirit. People may call it a bag of borrowings or a copy paste job but the truth is that the Constitution of India may have borrowed some features but was drafted according to the Historical perspective, Geographical diversity, Cultural and traditional characteristics of India.
As we know our constitution is the lengthiest written constitution, one factor contributing to it having been drawn from many different sources. The constituent assembly assessed many constitutions and drafted one taking all the provisions that best applied to India’s diversity. Dr B R Ambedkar rightly claimed it to be framed after “ransacking” the known constitution.
The feature of the Indian Constitution was borrowed from the following countries:
Britain

Unites States of America
Canada
Australia
