JFCM Judge personally meets frail couple outside courtroom in Bodhan, dismisses case after assessing their condition
NIZAMABAD: In a touching act of compassion, a magistrate at the Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JFCM) Court in Bodhan broke with routine courtroom procedures to extend relief to an elderly couple entangled in a dowry harassment case.
Sayamma and Gangaram, residents of Raykur village in Rudrur mandal, had been diligently attending court hearings filed by their daughter-in-law. Despite their old age, they faithfully adhered to the legal process.
On Monday, the elderly couple arrived at the court in an auto-rickshaw but were too physically weak to walk to the courtroom. On being informed of their condition, JFCM Magistrate E Sai Shiva left the bench and came outside to meet them personally.
In a rare and heartfelt gesture, the magistrate listened to both parties at the spot, reviewed the facts, and found no wrongdoing on the part of the couple. He subsequently dismissed the case.
The compassionate act, witnessed by many at the court premises, drew widespread appreciation for the magistrate’s sensitivity and humane conduct. The elderly couple, visibly emotional, expressed deep gratitude for the unexpected kindness.
