Why is legal education important for men?

Law is one of the most dynamic subjects in the world. Legal education is the heart and the very soul of the society for administering rule of law in a democratic country like India.

Legal education is not only for lawyers and judges but also for citizens so that the country also consists of law-abiding citizens with human values and rights who are actively aware of their legal rights.

These days, men have been counterfeiting so many legal violations of their rights, specifically in matrimonial cases that it has been an inevitable fact that men should acquire legal knowledge as much as possible to safeguard themselves from landing into any legal trouble even while being innocent.

There are endless matrimonial cases where men have faced physical assault, adultery, cruelty, and what not. Adding furthermore, men have also faced false and frivolous cases against them while they are innocent.

Women have been so harsh on men that in some cases they have even tried to commit suicide and kill themselves.

To save a man from any unreasonable legal troubles, he should have in-depth knowledge to get out of the legal trouble and prove himself not guilty.

For an instance,

If you are facing mental/physical cruelty in your marriage and your wife is taking undue advantage of you then you have all the rights to dissolve the marriage by a decree of divorce through Section 13(1) (ia) of the Hindu marriage act. If in such cases you are not aware of your general and very basic rights, it might get very difficult for you to handle the situation and it might backfire on you as well in face of a false legal action against you.

Acquiring legal knowledge will help you keep a hold on your case and will make you aware of the diversities of law. You will at least know how things will proceed in your case and what are the steps you can take to safeguard yourself. It will also help you in documentation needs as well as in making a wiser choices with respect to the lawyer to engage and the arguments that need to be made before the Court.

Men is ordinarily a carefree bird who is focused on flying and not the consequences or obstacles in between. Being aware of the rights and obligations can help avoid such legal complications and can save themselves from the fatal litigations.
